California Extreme is a pinball and arcade convention that showcases what the arcade scene looks like in the modern age. I love this convention, especially now that it is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Throwing unique music into the mix while you play old-school retro games? It is as awesome as it gets for a gaming nerd like myself.They have so much going on, but the combination of bands and consoles is pure gold—featuring Progressive Rock and Prehistoric Metal bands as the live soundtrack to the games. They even threw in a programmer panel discussing code, AI, and cheating in video games. Owen, an Atari programming rockstar, was on the panel. Plus, bands like Marilyn Manson and Angel Du$t turn this show into an absolute juggernaut.Tune in!
