Valley Politics August 2022: Irene Smith and Omar Torres, Candidates for San Jose City Council District 3 Omar Torres and Irene Smith, the top two of five candidates for San Jose City Council District 3 in the June primary election, face off on Valley Politics as the November runoff election approaches. We ask them about homelessness, transit-oriented development, police reform, respecting the urban village plans, relations with San Jose State University, creating a pedestrian-friendly downtown and more, including our lightning round in which they choose between Top Gun Maverick and Elvis and tell us which D3 park is their favorite.
